As the global demand for seafood rises, advancements in offshore aquaculture will be essential to ensure global food security. My research goal is to guide responsible management of offshore aquaculture by safeguarding the welfare of salmonids in challenging, turbulent conditions. I will investigate the physiological and behavioural responses of salmonids to offshore waves and currents, aiming to develop and refine practices that enhance welfare.
