I started out with a strong interest in ecological and evolutionary theory, writing an Honours thesis on sexual selection and a PhD thesis on the fitness consequences of habitat selection decisions (e.g. ecological traps). I’ve since turned to various applied topics relating to sustainable use of the coastal marine environment, especially aquaculture-environment interactions.
