Meet the Lab

  Sea urchin roe is a prized delicacy in countries such as China and Japan. Short-spined sea urchins in particular are known to produce high quality roe. To ensure a sustainable, consistent and year-long supply of high-quality Australian sea urchin roe, closed-life cycle sea urchin aquaculture techniques must be developed. My research will specifically focus on developing these techniques for the native Australian sea-urchin Heliocidaris Erythogramma.
